Welcome to a blog dedicated to sharing whatever adventures come my way.  I have blogs about education, photography, and even the final space shuttle launch, but I found their focus to be too narrow.  This will be a place where I can post about my travels and any interesting encounters I may have.

I am an educator who also has a strong passion for photography.  I feel a good photographer is someone who is curious about what they see, and has a desire to capture an image or moment to share with others who are curious as well.  In this way I see photography as a tool for educating or enlightening others.

The first journey I will be blogging about is one I am about to embark on in a few days to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.  I have been hired to work in a private international K-12 school.  I will not be teaching, but instead will have a "supervisor" position.  Like other teachers heading to the region for work, I have been provided with few specifics about what I will actually be doing.  In fact many teachers going to work in government schools do not know the city, school, or grade level until they actually arrive in Abu Dhabi.  So I suppose I should feel lucky that I know where I will be working and at what grade level.

While I am going to Abu Dhabi for work, what I am most excited about is the chance to explore a foreign country, meet interesting people, and learn about a new culture.  As I do so I look forward to sharing what I experience with anyone who may be interested.  Check back soon as I blog about this wonderful opportunity I have been blessed with...
